While many companies have to discuss quotas for women, krone.tv shows how it can be done: the editors are “all female”, all editors here are women. “Many people talk about it, we live women’s power! And that without catfights”, Info Manager Katia Wagner proudly tells about her team on the occasion of International Women’s Day on March 8!
Katia Wagner has been leading the news department of krone.tv since 2022. “I am very proud of the work of our journalists! Day in and day out, we live by the fact that there is no need for a women’s quota if you want it,” Wagner said on International Women’s Day. She also clears away a prejudice: “There is no catfight, the work is even more relaxed than on some testosterone-soaked editorial offices”.
“We don’t have a macho culture”
The news department of krone.tv is led by the two bosses on duty, Jana Pasching and Tanja Pfaffeneder. Pasching has also moderated the daily live news series ‘Krone Live’ since last year. She says: “We don’t have a macho culture, we are real go-getters! What unites us all is our hands-on mentality and that we want to make things happen”.
Pfaffeneder switches to krone.tv
Pfaffeneder has been part of the team since the end of 2022. Before that, she worked as an editor, reporter, moderator and head of department at oe24. “I am positively surprised about working in an all-female editorial team, everyday life is very pleasant,” says the second boss on duty. Men often have a different approach, even in interviews conducted by women, they feel more “sensitivity” to the interlocutor.
Men are still welcome
But of course that doesn’t mean that men aren’t welcome on krone.tv. “It just happened that way. Among the applicants, the women were just incredibly strong,” explains Katia Wagner. And furthermore: “I want our ladies to develop further and open all doors for them. The end of the road is still a long way off not achieved, we still have a lot to do,” promises the head of info on krone.tv.
