The end of Austria’s first purely vegan Burger King branch at Vienna’s main station – krone.at reported – caused a stir among the population. But now the company hopes for a comeback.
As krone.at reported on Tuesday evening, the branch at Vienna’s Westbahnhof now offers meat products again.
“In addition to the vegan range, we also offer meat burgers again and are regularly open to our guests,” the branch manager emphasized to the start-up platform “brutkasten.com”.
Burger King is looking for an alternative location
On Wednesday, the company also spoke out about this. „The demand for our 100% vegan restaurant in Vienna’s Westbahnhof has exceeded all our expectations from the start. We plan to offer our guests a 100% vegan restaurant in the future and are already looking for a suitable alternative throughout Austria,” Burger King told the “Kurier”.
However, the increasing demand from many guests has now been met to offer the entire range again at the Westbahnhof. But: “A vegan return is not ruled out here,” it said.
There were no more meat, dairy or egg products at the location at Vienna’s Westbahnhof. The popular burgers there are made exclusively from 100 percent vegetable products. Expectations were high and at the reopening in July 2022 vegan burgers were even given away for two hours.
