Czech police are currently on the hunt for a particularly explosive object – the confiscated horse of Chechen ruler Ramzan Kadyrov was recently stolen. The horse fanatic could also be behind the theft.
Unknown perpetrators probably stole the stallion Zazu from his stable in Krabcice in the night from Friday to Saturday, the authorities said. The value of the breeding animal is estimated at a minimum of 17,000 euros.
Horse belongs to property
The 16-year-old brown horse of the thoroughbred horse breed bred for galloping sports has an irregular white spot in the shape of a star on its forehead. A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Finance in Prague confirmed to the public broadcaster on Wednesday that the horse was actually in Kadyrov’s possession. It is one of the assets frozen due to EU sanctions.
The EU accuses the ruler of the Russian Republic of Chechnya of serious human rights violations. Kadyrov is considered a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who has been waging an aggressive war against Ukraine for more than a year.
Escape via Poland to Belarus?
According to local Czech media, someone tried to gain access to Zazu and a second horse belonging to Kadyrov some time ago. Accordingly, last year two men allegedly demanded the release of the animal – they allegedly belonged to Kadyrov. However, the stable owner became suspicious and refused to load the horses and secured the stalls.
According to reports, the men held out at the gate of the site for five days before departing again. Shortly after her disappearance, the safety chain specially attached to the stable was no longer attached. The stable owner now suspects that the horses must be brought to Belarus via Poland. The Prague media now speculated that Kadyrov himself could be behind the horse’s abduction.
Kadyrov: “Where are the glorious police?”
The Chechen ruler reacted indignantly to the news of the theft: “It is a pity that a beautiful and noble animal suffers. Where is the glorious police with the democratically efficient and progressive methods of reconnaissance,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
In Chechnya you can leave your car undamaged on the street, but in the Czech Republic a sanctioned horse is stolen from the stable, he was shocked. According to him, the animal costs 10 million dollars, which is almost 9.5 million euros.
