Garden hose not enough – rabbit just rescued from burning house

Date:

A resident of Leopoldsdorf was putting out her house fire with a garden hose until the fire brigade arrived. But the flames were already rising too high – the professionals took over.

Morning alarm in Leopoldsdorf in the Bruck an der Leitha district: near the furnace of a family home, it started to burn for reasons that are still unclear. The resident tried to put out the fire with a garden hose before firefighters arrived. “However, the fire had already spread over a large area in the living-dining room and the ground floor was heavily smoked,” describe the comrades of the Leopoldsdorf fire brigade.

Respiratory protection team rescued two rabbits from the home
In no time at all, two fire lines were laid and the respiratory protection team started the interior attack. He was able to rescue the resident’s two rabbits from the heavily smoky room. This has now been arranged by the Red Cross.

The flames were quickly extinguished, burned goods were removed from the house and extinguished. The dropped ceiling had to be opened in places to put an end to other embers. The Florianis were able to extinguish the fire within 50 minutes of the alarm. About two and a half hours later, they moved back in after blowing the smoke out of the house with high-pressure fans.
