Poison wave – 100 school children in Iran still in hospitals

Date:

In Iran, 100 schoolchildren are still in hospitals with poisoning. The government of Iran assumes targeted attacks. The mysterious wave of poisoning has shocked the country and sparked new protests.

The first cases were reported as early as November, almost exclusively in girls’ schools. The doctors say it’s gas poisoning. There have been no deaths so far, 100 schoolchildren are still being treated in hospitals. The authorities registered a total of 13,000 suspected cases, the Iranian news agency Tasnim reported on Monday.

Angry relatives
Parents and relatives of the schoolchildren are outraged and angry. They accuse the authorities of failing and blame them for the current situation. The background is largely unclear so far. The mysterious wave of poisoning has shocked the country and sparked new protests last week.

Iran’s political and spiritual leaders have been under pressure since the fall. At the time, protests broke out against the repressive government and Islamic rule system after Kurdish woman Jina Masha Amini died in police custody. More than 500 people have been killed so far and many more have been arrested. 100,000 prisoners could now have been pardoned again. These figures come from the country’s chief justice and state media. They cannot be verified.

Detainees may have to leave on their own
It is not known how many protesters are still in prison. It was the first time that the judiciary released figures on arrests. Critics believe it is a diversionary tactic. They also complained that an indictment should be available for a pardon. If not, the detainees would have to incriminate themselves, human rights activists criticized.
