Quarrel between brothers – New details about the night shooting in Vienna

Date:

A dispute between two families led to a shooting in Vienna-Floridsdorf on Saturday evening. The result was four victims with stab and gunshot wounds. Now more and more new details are coming to light.

Three brothers aged 22, 26 and 27 and a 23-year-old were injured in the shooting in Floridusgasse. According to police, the suspects also include three brothers aged 22, 25 and 28, as well as the 54-year-old father.

Long-standing differences
According to initial investigations, the shooting occurred due to long-standing disagreements between the two families. There was allegedly a conflict over a woman, according to police spokesman Markus Dittrich. The dispute between the two families is said to have previously been discussed on social media.

Father already interviewed
Two of the suspects have already had conflicts with the law in the past. Including for bodily harm, forgery of documents and breach of trust. There was also a weapons ban against the suspect’s father, who was interrogated on Sunday morning.

Firearm seized
One of the used – and not officially registered – firearms has now been seized by the police. This was previously thrown into a garbage bin by one of the brothers. The search for another weapon is still open.

The nighttime gunfight led to a large-scale police operation. The special units Cobra and WEGA were involved, among others. The crime scene was cordoned off over a large area.
