Israel fires two commanders over WCK attack and continues to demand ‘credible’ investigation

Date:

The pseudo-independent investigation commissioned by the Zionist army has concluded that Israeli forces identified two ‘gunmen’ in the aid trucks as the convoy headed to a warehouse in Deir al Balah.

The Israeli army fired two commanders on Friday for their responsibility in the fight against the Israeli army attack on a World Central Kitchen convoy (WCK), last Monday in the center of the Gaza Strip, which according to its own investigation took place as a result of a series of “serious mistakes”, while the NGO demands an “independent” and “credible” investigation.

The researchpublished today concluded that Israeli forces have identified themselves two “shooters” in the aid trucks while the convoy was heading to a warehouse in Deir al Balah in central Gaza and as the vehicles left the site after unloading, ‘one of the commanders wrongly assumed that the gunmen were in the vehicles and that they were Hamas terrorists. “

This is the basic conclusion of the pseudo-independent investigation that the military commissioned by the Fact Investigation and Assessment Mechanism (FFAM), a body headed by Major General Yoav Har Even, which decides whether to launch a criminal investigation into incidents in the battle opens.

“We demand the establishment of one independent committee to investigate the murders of our WCK colleagues. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) cannot credibly investigate its own failures in Gaza,” the non-governmental organization said today shortly after the report’s conclusions were announced.

WCK believes that Israel’s apology “for the scandalous murder of our colleagues offers little comfort’ and has urged not only to prevent further deaths among humanitarian workers, but also to ‘protect and feed the people’. innocent citizens in Gaza.”

Although perfectly recognizable by the WCK logo, the convoy received the impact of three missiles shot down by a drone, according to the investigation.

A first rocket hit the car leading the convoy and the survivors fled to take refuge in the next vehicle, which seconds later was also attacked by another rocket and as a third vehicle approached to help them it was hit again.

So, José Andrés accused Israel this week of attacking the humanitarian convoy “systematically, vehicle by vehicle,” even though the move had previously been coordinated with the army.

On the other hand, the Israeli military has admitted that one of its helicopter gunships “apparently” killed hostage Efrat Katz on October 7, during the initial response to the attack by Palestinian militias on communities in the south of the country.

The Israeli military has acknowledged what happened during the publication of the investigation into the initial response to the attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz.
