And also in detention – kickboxer has to go to anti-aggression training

Date:

Stroking instead of hitting! The 26-year-old kickboxer, who caused a “carnage” in Upper Austria’s Schwanenstadt last year, has now been sentenced to what will hopefully be educational therapy for him. But he was not spared after the attack – he probably doesn’t need extra respect there.

No fellow inmate is likely to mess with him in prison: On the night of Dec. 8, a kickboxer (26) in Schwanenstadt randomly attacked three men (20, 23, and 33), knocking them to the ground and kicking them — one victim died broken nose.

The martial artist, who was also active in competitions and youth training, had to answer to the jury on Monday at the regional court in Wels for deliberately inflicting serious bodily harm. While he told the investigating officer that he still remembered the night well, he maneuvered around the courtroom. Alcohol was believed to have been involved and his memory was patchy.

The 26-year-old accepted the sentence of two years in prison, eight months of which were “serious”. And as an additional requirement, the kickboxer eager to return to the active scene – in the ring, not on the street – must undergo anti-aggression training and probation.
