Haizea Bilbao will add three new warehouses and an additional storage area to store the monopiles before they are delivered to the transport vessels.

Haizea Wind Groupa world leader in wind tower manufacturing, and Scottish Power, of the group iberdrolathey signed a agreement of more than 200 million euros for Haizea Bilbao to deliver 50 monopiles from the facilities in the port of Bilbao to the East Anglia Three offshore wind farm in the United Kingdom. This is the second contract Haizea Bilbao has won for future port facilities, following the one signed last September with the Danish company Ørsted.
This Wednesday, the lehendakari Iñigo Urkullu, the Deputy General of Bizkaia, Unai Rementeria, the Mayor of Zierbena Iñigo de Loyola Ortuzar, the President of Haizea Wind Group Dámaso Quintana, the President of Iberdrola Ignacio Sánchez Galán, the Minister of Economic Development Arantxa Tapia and Economic Promotion Delegate Ainara Basurko placed the first stone of future facilities, for which a investment of 150 million of euros.
Currently, Haizea Bilbao has 48,800 square meters and 500 employees. After signing these contracts, it already has an area of more than 200,000 square meters.
In addition to the three current ships, Haizea Bilbao will add three more and a new additional storage space for the monopiles before they are delivered to the transport ships. On the other hand, the agreement will assume that the creation of 350 jobs directly in Haizea Bilbao.
The 50 monopiles that Haizea Wind Group will manufacture for Iberdrola will support the wind turbines of the UK’s East Anglia Three offshore wind farm and will leave the new facility. In total, this park will have a capacity of 1.4 GW and will deliver clean energy to over a million UK households.
