The reason for this night half marathon remains a mystery! Police officers were looking for an accident victim in the Mühlviertel, but this was long gone – in the truest sense of the word. Everything became clear in the morning.
A 47-year-old from Linz drove alone in his car on Gusental Landesstraße from Gallneukirchen in the direction of Reichenau on Thursday evening around 10 p.m. In the municipality of Alberndorf, for unknown reasons, he left the road on a right turn, rolled and fell over the embankment, where the car came to rest on the roof. A marker post and two trees were also damaged.
The driver was able to free himself from the wreckage, but did not report it to the police. According to his own statements, the 47-year-old eventually walked about 22 kilometers to his girlfriend in Oberneukirchen. He then independently went to the UKH Linz for outpatient treatment. The car was presumably a total loss. In the morning hours, the girlfriend reported the traffic accident.
