In addition, the state’s governor has announced the “Life is a Human Right” bill, which proposes to ban abortion in almost all circumstances and classify the interruption of a pregnancy as a serious crime.

He Wyoming state has become the first in the United States to ban abortion pills amid a boom conservative pressure to repeal abortion rights in the country and that started when the Supreme Court in June 2022 overturned the legal precedent that allowed the interruption of pregnancy since 1973.
After both houses of the state congress de ban on abortion pills that allow for interruption of pregnancy up to 70 days after the last menstrual period, Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon ratified the bill this Friday, “Wyo File” reported.
“As I mentioned, I have a strong track record of protecting the lives of the unborn, as well as their mothers (…) I believe all life is sacred and that all human beings, including the unborn, should be treated with dignity and compassion,” Gordon said in a letter defending the measure to Wyoming Secretary of State Chuck Gray.
Despite the fact that there are states in the United States that almost completely ban abortion – and already ban these kinds of pills – Wyoming has been the first to explicitly regulate these drugs.
In this sense, the state governor has announced that he will allow another measure to go through, the so-called law ‘Life is a human right’which proposes to ban abortion in almost all circumstances and which would classify the interruption of a pregnancy as a serious crime.
Wyoming’s restriction on abortion drugs comes as a Texas judge waits a preliminary ruling that could order the US Food and Drug Administration to withdraw its approval of mifepristoneaccording to “The New York Times,” one of the most widely used pregnancy termination pills.
If the ruling were to pass, it would affect states across the country, including those where abortion is legal, as well as states with bans and restrictions.
