Light Punishment – Brother abused his four siblings

Date:

A well-known 22-year-old is said to have spent just eight months behind bars after years of severe abuse. However, the verdict of the Steyr Regional Court, which was passed in accordance with juvenile criminal law despite the fact that the accused was 22 years old, is not yet final.

He himself was only 14 years old when he first attacked his half-brothers and stepsisters. At the regional court in Steyr (Upper Austria), a 22-year-old had to answer to the youth jury on Friday because he was still a teenager at the time of the crime – between 2015 and 2018.

Half-brothers were seven and ten years old the first time
The suspect is accused of serious sexual abuse of his two half-brothers, who were respectively ten to twelve and seven to ten years old at the time of the crime. As a result, the older brother suffers from depression, among other things, which is why it is assumed that he was seriously injured.

Stepsisters were five and eleven years old
And the boy would also have immorally touched or abused his two stepsisters, ie the daughters of the father’s new partner. The girls were only five and eleven years old at the time of the crime. The suspect confessed to the trial.

The (non-final) verdict of the Steyr jury: 24 months in prison, eight of which were unconditional. The penalty for such young offenders would be up to 7.5 years in prison.
