Two boys, aged just 14 and 15, were chasing an 87-year-old woman and her handbag. The young people followed the pensioner to the stairwell in Vienna’s Leopoldstadt district on Thursday evening, took out a knife and demanded the woman’s belongings.
The two young Austrians had chosen the 87-year-old as their victim and struck around 8:30 p.m. They threatened the woman with a knife, after which she handed the boys her bag.
Immediate search started
The teens then fled. During an immediate house search, police officers were able to arrest two young people who matched the personal description. One of the two suspects still had the pensioner’s debit card with him. However, there was no trace of the bag or the knife.
The two youths have been arrested. The investigation is ongoing.
