At least 39 people have been killed in a fire at a Mexican migrant facility near the US border. 29 people were also injured, the Mexican immigration authorities reported on Tuesday.
Numerous emergency vehicles, firefighters and hearses were seen at the scene of the accident. The fire broke out at a factory in Ciudad Juarez, just a few miles from El Paso, Texas. The injured have been transferred to four different hospitals.
Most of the victims would come from Venezuela
The border town is one of the places through which countless migrants from Central and South America try to reach the United States every day. Many remain in the city for months or years in hopes of gaining asylum in the United States. The victims are said to be mainly immigrants from Venezuela.
