After serious accusations against directors and teachers of music schools in Lower Austria became known, the criminal case against one of the suspects has in any case been stopped. This has been confirmed by the public prosecutor’s office in Korneuburg. The man had lost his job because of the allegations and now wants to go back.
The suspicion of sexual abuse of minors, sexual harassment and abuse of authority: the allegations against a teacher at music school Himberg were serious. In addition to an immediate suspension, an investigation was also launched against the teacher.
The basis of the proceedings included the statements in a logbook from the market town of Himberg, which is available to the “Krone” – from mobile phone messages such as, “You have such beautiful fawn eyes, bussi”, to slippery gifts to a 14-year-old year-old to touch in class, the written notes signed by the parents are sufficient.
The attacks are said to have taken place from 1996 to December 23, 2022. The statement, which was sent to the lawyer of the music school, read, among other things: “It cannot be proven that the crime was committed, none of those questioned could provide information about assault by the suspect.”
The man had already sued the music school for reassignment in January. He would now consider further legal action. According to his lawyer, he wants to prosecute anyone who has accused him. The teacher still wants to go back to work. At the beginning of February, 56 complaints had been received by the ombudsman for music schools, which was set up last December. The majority would have had to do with employment law, such as hourly discounts or the lack of a written copy of employment contracts.
