A 63-year-old woman was in the wrong place at the wrong time on Friday afternoon in Jochberg in the Tyrolean district of Kitzbühel: The German was hit by a falling tree while walking. She sustained serious injuries!
The fatal incident took place in Jochberg around 4 p.m. on Friday. The 63-year-old German was walking when a tree suddenly fell on the adjacent dike.

The woman was unable to respond. The tree fell on top of her. The walker suffered serious injuries – reportedly craniocerebral trauma.
The injured person was then given first aid by the emergency services and then flown by helicopter to the accident hospital in Salzburg.
The affected tree was rotten
As the police explained by “Krone” when questioned, the tree should have been rotten. The fire service has removed these and other trees as a precaution.
