The starting position: A family of four – two parents, two children – wants to book a two-week vacation. Since the children (7 and 10 years old) are of school age, the trip falls during the summer holidays: from 24 July to 6 August. A couple would like to spend their long annual vacation in the same period. We play out different scenarios: how much they spend on package tours or self-booked trips, whether flying or driving is cheaper, how long they can stay, how far they can get, what they can do – we found out all of this.
