A 29-year-old German ran into problems with his paraglider in the Tyrolean Stubaital on Wednesday afternoon and pulled the rescue parachute. However, because it was difficult to steer, the man crashed into a house wall on landing and was seriously injured.
At around 2:45 p.m., the paraglider pilot wanted to perform a flying maneuver with his paraglider in the municipality of Fulpmes at an altitude of about 800 meters. “Because the maneuver failed, the man had to open the rescue parachute,” police said.
Taken to Innsbruck clinic
But the rescue parachute was barely steerable. “The 29-year-old crashed into a house wall while landing and was seriously injured,” the officials said. After first aid, the man was taken to the clinic in Innsbruck by the rescue service or the emergency doctor.
