The woman from Graz was able to notify the emergency services herself. A fire broke out in her two-room apartment in Raach (Gösting district) for reasons that have not yet been clarified. When firefighters arrived on scene, the home was already engulfed in flames, but the resident was able to get to safety.
The professional Graz fire brigade was present with five vehicles and a total of 24 men – after only 20 minutes the “fire was out”. However, the post-extinguishing and back-up work will take several hours. The injured resident was taken to hospital by the Red Cross.
