Only four monks currently live in the more than 700-year-old Engelszell Abbey. They are 86, 85 and 62 years old, brother Christian Bock is the junior with his “tender” 56 years old. The native German and trained lawyer has been in Engelhartszell (that’s the name of the place where the monastery is located) since 2018. He tries to breathe new life into the ancient monastery and to maintain the balance between monk’s habit and administrative tasks.
