On Tuesday, a 34-year-old Turk will stand trial in Salzburg for the murder of an old friend (33). Before the act in April, the victim comforted his alleged killer over relationship problems and even paid for his taxi fare.
A 34-year-old Turk is on trial on Tuesday for the murder of an old friend (33). According to the indictment, the unemployed worker stabbed the man to death on April 6 after a night of drinking in his apartment in Salzburg-Parsch. The 15-time criminal faces life imprisonment.
A total of five stab wounds to the head, chest, abdomen and back and two blows to the head – inflicted with a cordless screwdriver – determined by coroners. Cause of death: bleeding to death. The defendant has so far preferred to remain silent about the crime. A lab found morphine, cocaine, codeine, tranquilizers, cannabis and alcohol in his blood. The Turk is assisted by lawyer Kurt Jelinek.
The suspected killer himself called the police
The suspect himself started the police operation at 6:27 am. “I’m losing blood, someone stabbed me,” he allegedly said in an emergency call. Police officers found the Turk, dressed only in socks and sweatpants, in front of the apartment building on Joseph-Messner-Strasse. The bloodied man had a stab wound on his upper lip. His explanation: his friend tried to kill himself with a knife in the bathroom. He would have wanted to avoid doing so, stabbed the victim and fled.
The suspect’s story cannot be true, the indictment said
Shortly after officers found the body in the hallway in front of the apartment, it was clear to them that the man’s version couldn’t be right. Neither injuries nor traces matched his story.
Investigators believe the murder suspect sought comfort from his school friend on the night of the crime. His girlfriend’s infidelity got to him. The later victim took him out of the taxi around 1:30 a.m. and paid for it. And would have said, “Everything will be all right.”
