Last weekend there was a bear alert in Upper Bavaria in the district of Rosenheim – not far from the border with Tyrol! Footprints were discovered in the snow.
As the Bavarian state office for environmental affairs in Augsburg announced Monday, the animal left footprints in the snow in the districts of Miesbach and Rosenheim last weekend.
Further details not possible
The tracks were evaluated, the suspicion of a brown bear was confirmed. However, further information about the bear is not possible due to footsteps.
Last year some confirmed clues
The last confirmed indication of a brown bear in Bavaria dates from the summer of 2022. In the border area between Reutte in Tyrol, the districts of Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen, several indications have been confirmed in 2022.
Even then it was not possible to provide more information about the bear because of the tracks.
