After five months in custody, a 50-year-old woman had to answer for the court in Eisenstadt.
What began at age 11 with Daniela L.’s first total drunkenness, continued at age 17 with her first heroin injection, and finally culminated in a decades-long “career of addiction” for the woman, has now found temporary closure in the Eisenstadt court. Because here the now 50-year-old had to answer for coercion, dangerous threats and resistance to the public prosecutor before judge Melanie Gschiel.
On November 23, 2022, L. attacked her boyfriend in the shared apartment in the south of Burgenland, from whom she says she had separated the day before, with a cleaver, a knife and a carving fork.
Pierced the door with a knife
When the victim fled to the bedroom, she stabbed the door so hard that the knife went right through the wood! As if by a miracle, the 35-year-old VUT was only slightly injured. Luck for the victim: the drunkard (2.5 promille) had previously announced the act to the man’s mother, after which she called the police, who arrived a little later. The 50-year-old would also have resisted admission to the psychiatric ward.
During her trial, the suspect was taken out of prison in handcuffs. She denied that the accused was resisting state authority, she admitted the remaining charges, but pleaded self-defense for repeatedly physically and mentally abusing her boyfriend, who was also a drug addict. After reading the psychiatric report, Mrs. Rat gave her verdict.
Perpetrator admitted to institution
It has handed down acquittals on defiance of state authority and guilty verdicts on the other charges: 18 months in prison, six of which are unconditional, which the woman must serve in an institution for criminals to be weaned.
