A prostitute is said to have stolen 53,000 euros from a Styrian. She claims she only took her own money. The lay judge in Graz acquitted the Romanian when in doubt. Too much is undecided, said the judge.
One thing immediately stands out about the process: the Laufhaus operator is used to being in charge. The 57-year-old jumped up several times during the trial to show judge Erik Nauta videos of evidence loudly on his mobile phone.
He films almost everything. For example, while training or counting money. “I’m an influencer too,” explains the powerhouse. And a short search on the Internet proves: The owner of the Laufhaus is a minor celebrity on the Internet.
“You are in court and not in your establishment”
He shows that too. He has to be corrected several times. “You are in court and not in your establishment. Moderate yourself!” cried Prosecutor Rudolf Fauler not once. And his lawyer Frank Gruber also has to reason with the 57-year-old: “Sit down! Calm!”
But what makes the brothel operator so enthusiastic? His ex-employee and ex-lover (“just a business relationship”) would have relieved him of 53,000 euros. “I only took my 55,000 euros!” insists the Romanian. “She would never have dared to take his money. Then all hell would have broken loose,” says defender Christine Lanschützer.
“Of course she stole it”
Together with a buddy, she and the Styrian woman had rented a locker. There would have been a total of 405,000 euros. “Of course she stole it. She thought I wouldn’t notice if a few bundles were missing.”
But the lay judge acquitted the prostitute. “It contradicts the idea that she didn’t take all the money and just disappeared to Romania,” says Nauta. In addition, the statements of the Styrian were not conclusive. The verdict is not final.
