The shortage of personnel in the healthcare sector is increasing. Almost every tenth bed in the Upper Austrian hospitals is therefore blocked. In a few days, children may also be affected.
Where will the kids go then? The Kepler University Hospital in Linz cannot answer that. At the end of April, the beds on “Med Campus IV”, the former children’s hospital, will be finished. This will mainly affect the young patients who lie here after an eye operation. From May 1, this should no longer be possible. “We are working on alternative solutions,” confirms the hospital’s “Krone”, “there are still a few days left”. And: “Of course, acute eye surgeries are not affected, only planned procedures.”
