The majority trade union on the Basque map ELA will focus its demands on the fight against uncertainty According to this central complaint, in Hego Euskal Herria, more than 541,600 people have precarious jobs (407,300 in the CAV and 134,330 in Navarre) and women are the ones who suffer most from this reality. “Ending these precarious jobs is the most important task of the union and the reality shows that the union struggle is the most effective way,” he explains.

According to LAB, this situation is not a result “neither of the pandemic nor of the war in Ukraine”, but is due to capitalism only after “decades of neoliberal policies”.

In this sense, both CCOO and UGT deplore the “blockade” suffered by collective bargaining in the Basque Country, with more than 400,000 employees with their agreements pending negotiation and without a single sectoral agreement signed so far this year, while the companies that have signed up affect just over 4,000 employees, according to their data.
