After several burglaries and arson attacks in Perchtoldsdorf and Brunn am gebirge in Lower Austria, a 41-year-old homeless person is now being held in Wiener Neustadt prison.
The man is said to have mainly chosen empty single-family homes, where he also spent the night in some. After his arrest in Vienna, he partly confessed. The total damage is at least 25,000 euros, according to the police.
The 41-year-old was investigated by the police as part of investigations and trace evaluations. In the past, there was already a warrant to arrest him for a burglary in Brunn am Berge in 2020.

As early as February, the man’s handcuffs clicked during a check in Vienna-Meidling. The suspect would be responsible for seven burglaries in Perchtoldsdorf, material damage and two arson attacks in Perchtoldsdorf and Brunn am Berge since October 2021.
Investigations and searches for an alleged accomplice are ongoing.
