The visit by Pelosi, the top US leader to Ukraine since the start of the war, was intended to express her country’s support for the Ukrainian government.
The Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosicmet with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, during an unannounced visit to Kiev made to “express support for the Ukrainian government”.
Today, the Ukrainian Presidency released images of the early morning meeting on its Twitter account, which showed the welcome of the Ukrainian President, Volodimir Zelensky, to Pelosi and his companions, a congress delegation including representatives Jason Crow, Jim McGovern, Adam Schiff, Gregory Meeks, C Barbara Lee and Bill Keating.

“You’re welcome,” Zelensky told the Americans, thanking them for helping them “protect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our state.”
Pelosi has thanked him for “his fight for freedom”. “Our commitment is to be with you until the end of the fight,” he added.
Pelosi’s visit had not been announced, although it was expected. A statement from Pelosi’s office, which also does not specify the date of the visit, states that the delegation continued journey through southeast Poland and Warsaw
