As the Styrian education directorate confirmed to Apa on Friday, classes at the LBS Murau switched to distance learning on Thursday. 60 students have diarrhea and vomiting, so the school management sent all 300 students home.
“The school building cannot be used indefinitely. We are working hard to ensure conventional education as soon as possible,” says the school’s website.
Sickness a “souvenir” from Barcelona?
On the advice of the health authorities, all classrooms are now being thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. It is therefore hoped that regular classes will be possible again on Monday. The cause of the illness among the students is still unclear. But it is suspected that it could be a “souvenir” from a group that was on an Erasmus exchange in Barcelona.
