Oh no! On Saturday, the loading space of a truck completely burned out at the Ansfelden rest area in Upper Austria. Young and old grieve for the destroyed goods: the truck with a trailer had loaded 19 tons of gummy bears. Fortunately no one was injured.
A technical defect was probably the cause of the fire in an articulated vehicle in the parking lot of the petrol station in Ansfelden. The Hungarian driver (58) noticed the fire in time and was able to escape from the driver’s cabin.
Extinguishing work of two hours
The Ansfelden, Nettingsdorf, Freindorf and Pucking fire brigades were on site with a total of 56 men and eleven vehicles. After two hours they could “put out the fire”. Fortunately, no one was injured in the fire. The 58-year-old truck driver was taken to hospital for a check-up.
Sweets inedible
However, the load of the truck combination was completely destroyed. This is bad news, especially for those with a sweet tooth. Because the truck had loaded 19 tons of gummy bears. The popular candy is now inedible due to fire and extinguishing foam.
