The climate activists of the last generation again blocked traffic in Salzburg today. They are again demanding a speed limit and a halt to all new oil drilling.
You’ve done it again! Activists of the last generation gathered early in the morning for a peaceful, but unannounced, protest march on Salzburg’s Imbergstrasse in the city center. They renewed their demands for a 100 km/h speed limit on the highways and a halt to all new gas and oil drilling.
As the federal government remains inactive and ignores the warnings of science, those involved feel compelled to take action. “We have no more time to lose,” said Hanna Ziesel, a 53-year-old psychotherapist who is taking part in the protest. The march was followed by a stabbing action on Rudolfskai. There are huge delays in the city of Salzburg.
The activists also took to the streets in Innsbruck on Monday morning and caused chaos in early morning traffic.
