Mass destruction: Musk missile launch ban

Date:

It’s been about a week since the first attempt to launch the giant Starship rocket, which eventually had to blow up the plane. But a new attempt will have to wait: due to massive destruction, the US authorities have banned further launches.

It probably needs more than cheers in the command center: A week ago, the largest rocket ever built in the world, Starship by SpaceX, briefly lifted off on its first launch attempt — and exploded.

Launch pad largely destroyed
Elon Musk explained that the launch was a great success despite the self-destruct. The authorities do not see things so rosy: the American Federal Aviation Administration – FAA for short – has issued a take-off ban. The reason: the launch pad was largely destroyed during the launch at the Boca Chica spaceport in the US state of Texas.

Company must ensure safety
The engines left huge craters on the ground. Cars parked nearby were also damaged. Dust and debris flew about and fell six miles away. Windows broke in nearby Port Isabel. In addition, residents report thick dust on the buildings.

An investigation has now started into this. Starship is not allowed to take off again until it is certain that the launch will not endanger public safety and that could take a while!
