On Sunday evening, Wiener Linien employees alerted the police in Vienna-Spittelau after a passenger discovered a three-year-old boy alone on the U6 towards Floridsdorf. The curious thing: the toddler was on his way to a fast food restaurant because he was hungry.
According to the police, the boy probably used an undetected moment to sneak away from a playground in Meidling. However, the three-year-old got lost and got on the U6 Am Schöpfwerk towards Floridsdorf. The result was a feverish search by the mother.
Was traveling alone
An attentive passenger then noticed that the toddler was traveling all alone. At Spittelau station, the passenger got out with the boy and alerted the station master, who immediately alerted the police. Officers took the three-year-old under their wing and were soon able to reunite the concerned mother with her son, who was thankfully safe.
