A beaver did a great job in the Tyrolean Unterland on Monday evening: The hardworking rodent “fell” a huge tree in St. Johann (Kitzbühel district), which then fell on the main road and blocked it. The fire department had to come.
For the St. Johann in Tirol fire brigade, this operation clearly falls into the “strange” category: Shortly before 5 a.m., the Floriani youth was alerted because a tree had fallen on Loferer Straße in the southern traffic interchange.
Florianis approached with chainsaws
“The reason for this was animal,” says the fire service, “a beaver had done a great job and knocked down the tree near the Ache.” The tree was too big to remove by hand. That is why the tree – the trunk had a diameter of up to 20 centimeters – first had to be cut down with a chainsaw.
After the branches were removed and the roadway cleared, the road in this area was finally reopened.
