At 2000 meters above sea level – Salzburg hunters discovered bear tracks in the Glemmtal

Date:

Last weekend, a hunter discovered bear tracks in the Schwarzachergraben at 2,000 meters above sea level at the end of the Glemmtal. “Federal experts confirm that there are bear tracks,” explained Hubert Stock, representative of the state of Salzburg for wolf and bear cases.

The sighting was reported to the country on Thursday. It is impossible to say whether the bear is still in the Saalbach-Hinterglemm area. The animals cover between 30 and 50 kilometers per day.

No further traces have been reported so far. “We have therefore asked the hunters to report any traces, hair or excrement, so that we can possibly take a DNA sample,” says Stock.
