Fire alarm in London – panic broke out on the tube just before the coronation

Date:

Shortly before the coronation of King Charles III. Panic broke out in the London subway: after a fire alarm, passengers smashed the windows of the subway – the carriages seemed to be filled with smoke beforehand.

The dramatic incident took place at Clapham Common station. For fear of fire, windows were even smashed to allow passengers to climb out of the vehicle.

According to the London police, no fire had broken out. A British Transport Police spokesman said the smoke was caused by “brake dust, which can often be mistaken for burns” from a broken down train. No injuries were reported in the dramatic incident.
