A 25-year-old attacked his opponent (33) with a branch at the Vienna-Floridsdorf train station on Wednesday. He in turn took out a screwdriver and attacked the Iranian.
It is still unclear why the two men got into an argument at the train station on Wednesday afternoon. However, the argument soon became wilder and the opponents attacked each other with branches and screwdrivers.
Policewoman attacked with kicks
The 33-year-old fled shortly afterwards and spoke to a group of police officers. When they tried to clarify the matter, the man then tried to escape again. He attacked a policewoman with kicks.
Both men injured
The 33-year-old was arrested despite his resistance. Shortly afterwards, the handcuffs clicked on the 25-year-old Iranian. Both men were injured in the incident and received emergency medical care from Vienna’s professional rescue service. The 33-year-old was also taken to a hospital.
During interrogation, both suspects made partial confessions. Both are said to be free.
The policewoman was slightly injured in the incident, but was able to continue her duties.
