A 19-year-old spent hours live broadcasting an overnight stay on a snowfield on the Zugspitze.
Police were notified of the live stream on the internet on Sunday night, a statement said. Because the exact whereabouts were not known, the rescuers kept an eye on the condition of the young man from the Nuremberg area through the live stream out of concern – all night long.
The 19-year-old was probably not so cold that people should have feared for his health, according to the police in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The young man woke up around 5:30 a.m. and eventually took off on foot.
Police not happy with action
“He stayed there to stream that,” the rep said. “That is of course a lot of work for the assistants.” After all, they would have watched him for hours and would have quickly come to the rescue in case of an emergency.
