After the shooting in Vienna-Simmering on Sunday, in which a 38-year-old Iranian was killed in a Turkish shop, the victim’s partner has now also been arrested, the police said. According to the Viennese police, it cannot be ruled out that it is related to the crime.
As reported on Sunday, a 34-year-old Iranian allegedly fatally wounded a 38-year-old man with a firearm at around 2:30 p.m. in a Turkish shop. Shortly after the crime, the alleged perpetrator was provisionally arrested in Vienna-Simmering, Delsenbachgasse. A firearm was also found during the search.
Second arrest on Sunday night
As the police reported on Monday, the victim’s 26-year-old partner was arrested early Sunday evening. It is not excluded that it is related to the crime.
According to the current state of the investigation, disputes over money are likely the background to the crime. “Both the 34-year-old and the 26-year-old will be questioned again during the day on Monday,” the Viennese police said. The investigation is progressing well.
