A surgeon would then have altered a patient’s file — to look better in a civil case because of a malpractice.
But the doctor says he doesn’t want to embellish anything, but “to create clarity for experts”. Something had gone wrong during the operation. Judge reported doctor
She complained, the civil trial began – and the judge filed a criminal complaint. Because the factsheets contain suspicious additions that, according to the patient, had never been discussed.
The doctor’s lawyer, Farid Rifaat, puts it into perspective: “There were no changes relevant to the treatment, just a chronology of events was created. For a better understanding for everyone.” But the judge in the Vienna court had nothing against it: the doctor was given eight months’ probation for fraud. The verdict is not final.
