An accident with a wild horse had overshadowed the horse show in Salzburg’s Lamprechtshausen on Friday. A gray horse, startled, galloped through a container door and seriously injured the head of the registry office. This caused his dog to flee.
Chaos reigned for a few minutes at the show jumping competition in Lamprechtshausen on Friday: the gray horse “Cevin” jumped over the course fence, could not slow down on the asphalt and galloped through (!) the small container door of the registration office – the “Krone” reported. The head of the registry office, Matthias Eckmayer, suffered a partial skull fracture. The Lower Austrian is doing better again, he is still in the UKH Salzburg, but may be allowed to leave the hospital on Monday.
Dog fled
Then “Johnny” will be seen next to him again. As the 600-pound horse raced into the dumpster, “Johnny was sitting next to me,” Eckmayer recalls. The nine-year-old Jack Russell terrier, as seen on video, then fled in terror.
With loudspeaker announcements and a call on the Internet, the organizer pointed out the disappearance of the dog. He was found in Lamprechtshausen on the main road about five hours after the accident. A lady saw the frightened Johnny and drove him safely back to the horse show.
