Labor unions ALS and LAB They have the staff of the Justice administration of the Basque Autonomous Community (CAV). strike for three days starting today—May 9, 10, and 11— to request salary equalization for the rest of the civil servants.
Workers in the sector have staged several partial strikes over the past month and a 24-hour strike on April 19. Today, at 11:30 a.m., they will gather in front of the courts of Bilbao.
The trade union centers are asking the Basque government to “stop looking the other way” and to comply “immediately” with the agreement signed in 2012 by former justice minister Idoia Mendia. According to the IV Regulatory Agreement, the executive promised to adapt the salary conditions of the staff to those of the staff of the General Administration of the Basque Country. The unions state that the Basque government has been “systematically in default” for more than 10 years.
Likewise, they demand equalization of pension conditions and a non-withdrawable salary bonus for Gender Violence Courts staff.
ELA and LAB believe that the Basque government is waiting to see how the negotiations in Madrid in the same group go. The management proposes a salary increase of 10% over the next four years.
Meanwhile, the associations of state judges and prosecutors Spanish loves the indefinite strike convened of May 16after the last negotiating meeting with the Ministry of Justice ended without an agreement.

Negotiations will continue tomorrow, but the associations have indicated that they will consult with their own consultations with a view to the next meeting.
