From 2017 to 2021, the 38-year-old from Mostviertel (Lower Austria) would have expressed her anger at her child. Now the Czech has to spend five years behind bars for persistent violence. The 14-year-old is in therapy.
As soon as her mother opened the front door, her fear rose. The 38-year-old Czech is said to have repeatedly hit her 14-year-old daughter with a wooden spoon, pulled her hair and also pushed her against the wall for about five years. So strong she couldn’t breathe.
The triggers for such outbursts of violence were, for example, when the girl did not take out the garbage or wanted to satisfy her hunger with food from the refrigerator. Now the woman had to answer to the court in St. Pölten because of continued violence.
family colluded
After the divorce, the mother’s abuse increased. The 14-year-old always blamed herself for fear of being a “bad daughter”. The suspect pleaded not guilty, spoke of a few innocent “bum slappers” and pinpointed a vengeance by her ex-husband behind the charges. The court saw things differently and sentenced the 38-year-old to five years in prison – not definitively.
Mother takes no responsibility
For this, the suspect tried to shift the blame away from himself: in a thoroughly absurd way, as the presiding judge found out. Because the 38-year-old only wants to follow medical advice with her violent behavior. “My daughter wet the bed for a while. I can’t buy a new mattress every time,” the defendant testified. She took her child to the doctor to find out the cause of the nightly urination.
The little one was just lazy, that could be remedied with a tap on the buttocks, she would have been advised. Her daughter has been suffering from depression ever since. After long suffering, the abuse has now come to light. “I still hope my mom still loves me,” the 14-year-old explains through tears.
Attempted murder of own child (5)
Another trial against an abusive mother begins on Tuesday at the regional court in Graz – the woman allegedly stabbed her five-year-old son several times.
