According to the nationalist union, ELA and UGT opted for demobilization “by buying ADEGI’s first proposal”.
LAB denounced that ELA and UGT ended negotiations on the Gipuzkoa Metals Agreement by announcing their agreement with ADEGI, and accused ELA of leaving the Gipuzkoa Metalworkers “no chance of a better deal”.
The Abertzale union believes that “the two unions have purchased the first proposal from ADEGI“, and thus, “the battle is over before it begins.”
“The two unions have opted for demobilization, they have cut off the road to the 6 days strike that we had convened from LAB, in exchange for a cheaper deal,” he underlined.
In addition, LAB believes that the attitude of ELA has not been consistent: “Unlike other negotiations, it has sought and accepted UGT’s participation at the negotiating table, although it does not reach 10%.”
“But ELA has chosen the employer as a travel companion. The alliance benefits ADEGI. It promotes union division and weakens workers seeking deactivation,” he added.
LAB recalled that it is about “second example in a few weeks”, referring to the signing by ELA of the agreement, also with the employers in the food industry and trade in Gipuzkoa, “24 hours before the strike”.
“This is not good news for the workers of Gipuzkoa,” stressed the union, which believes ELA has some kind of agreement with ADEGI, as “it has refused to mobilize” at the tables where ADEGI has a majority.
