Men ran away – police arrested suspected smugglers in Vienna

Date:

In the night from Saturday to Saturday, the Viennese police arrested a suspected smuggler in Vienna-Brigittenau. A radio car crew became aware of a vehicle stopping at an intersection and allowed three backpackers to get out. When the officers approached, the three people ran away and the driver accelerated, the police reported on Saturday.

After a chase, the emergency services managed to stop the car near the Stadionallee. After clarification of the facts, the police arrested the driver, a 42-year-old man (citizenship unclear) on suspicion of smuggling.

A second person, a 34-year-old Sudanese man, who was also in the vehicle, was arrested by police.
