Ukrainian shelling – Kremlin: Residents had to flee the Kharkov region

Date:

The Russian-appointed “government” of the annexed part of the Kharkiv region has issued an official statement calling on residents to “temporarily” leave the oblast. The people who live there are probably in great danger.

Although Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky publicly announced that the major offensive could take longer, many experts agree that this may not necessarily be the truth. “It could be a ruse. It could actually start any minute,” Gerhard Mangott explained in an interview with KroneTV.

prevent civilian casualties
Now the “administration” of the annexed part of the Kharkiv region wrote that it was better not to stay in the area until “favorable living conditions were created again.” The authorities point out that the “recommendation is related to increased shelling by Ukrainian troops” and that they want to avoid civilian casualties. In the event of an evacuation, local residents are given the prospect of “any necessary help and support in the follow-up”.

Messages from the official Russian side to its own citizens are usually written in euphemistic language – in stark contrast to the crass choice of words known from Russian diplomats and the Kremlin. But the rosier tone doesn’t help the Russians much either – because the promises often turn out to be nothing but lies and deceit.

In March 2023, the Russian-appointed “head of administration” of the occupied part of the Kharkiv region, Vitaly Gonchev, said that 29 settlements of the Kharkiv Oblast were under the control of the Russian armed forces and a total of 300,000 people lived there over there.

Ukraine hits Russian targets 100 km behind the front
On Saturday, the Russian occupation authorities reported a Ukrainian missile attack on the Luhansk region, 100 kilometers behind the front. Six children and one adult were injured. In addition, the administrative building of a closed packaging plant and a detergent factory in the capital Luhansk were damaged by two Ukrainian-made “Grom” (German: “Thunder”) missiles.

Video showed a plume of black smoke over the city. Since Luhansk is 100 kilometers behind the front line, it is speculated that the first British-supplied cruise missiles were deployed via Kiev.
