Large-scale operation in the city of Salzburg: Heavily armed police officers were out late Saturday afternoon in Salzburg-Lehen. One man said he shot himself with a gun.
After the arrival of the emergency services, the ‘all-clear’ was given. According to police information, the man suffers from a mental illness and the crime only happened in his head. No persons were injured or killed. During the operation, the streets around the former stadium had to be closed. There were traffic delays.

The arrested person was then transferred to the Christian Doppler Clinic.
In addition to the Cobra in the city of Salzburg, police officers were also present in Kaltenhausen near Hallein, at the Red Bull Arena in Klessheim and on the A1. A police helicopter also flew over the capital.
