A tragic traffic accident took place in Nenzing (Vorarlberg) on Monday afternoon. A 31-year-old driver died in the presence of his girlfriend (29), who was sitting next to him as a passenger.
Around 5.30 pm, the 31-year-old drove with his girlfriend (29) on the L 190 towards Feldkirch. When the oncoming truck driver lost control, a collision ensued in the bend. Included the 31-year-old was thrown off the road with his car and ended up in a ditch. However, another vehicle drove behind the car.
Truck skewed to the right
As the truck continued into the oncoming lane, it collided head-on with the second oncoming car, which also pushed off the road. This caused the truck to flip onto its right side and block the oncoming roadway. The driver of the second car was trapped by the force of the impact and had to be freed from the vehicle by the emergency services. He was flown to a hospital.
Any help came too late for the 31-year-old from the first car. He succumbed to his serious injuries at the scene of the accident. The 29-year-old passenger and the 30-year-old truck driver were taken to hospitals in Bludenz and Feldkirch with minor injuries. The road was closed for a total of three hours.
