Deep “Minerva” – Heavy Rain: Land under vacation paradises

Parts of Italy and Croatia are under water! The weather is expected to calm down on Wednesday evening. Meanwhile, 400 people died in Myanmar.

It rains and rains and it just won’t stop! The Italian depression, known internationally as “Minerva”, first flooded parts of Sicily and has now settled in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. There’s a red alert there! “By Wednesday evening, with heavy rainfall, 170 liters of water per square meter is possible,” outlines Konstantin Brandes from the private weather station “Ubimet”. And further: “Severe flooding is possible in many places. Also on the Formula 1 circuit in Imola.”

Croatia: Zadar tourist region affected
But the water masses are not only a drastic problem around the mortadella stronghold of Bologna, whole areas around the tourist region of Zadar are also under water in Croatia. So land below in the holiday paradise of many compatriots! The good news: Wednesday evening it will be quieter again.
