They are probably only a favorite animal for a few people: rats. Although considered very smart, these animals tend to flee rather than attack us, but their mere presence causes many to panic. That was also the case for bus stop 14A at Vienna’s Keplerplatz on Wednesday. According to video recordings by a reader-reporter of “Krone”, one could speak of a veritable rat plague there.
It was around 7 p.m. when our “Krone” reader caught sight of the little rodents. “The rats were right next to the bus stop,” says the man. Some children between the ages of five and seven would have been there and pointed out the animals to their parents.
“The kids were terrified,” says the man. But what was even more terrifying for the man: the rats would not have reacted at all to the presence of humans…
Normally the rodents are out at night. Due to the bad weather of the past few days, the rodents may have been driven from their burrows and hiding places by the heavy rain.
